SAN FRANCISCO (dpa-AFX) - Visa Inc. (V) released a profit for its second
quarter that increased from the same period last year and beat the Street
estimates.

The company's earnings totaled $4.66 billion, or $2.29 per share. This compares with $4.26 billion, or $2.03 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Excluding items, Visa Inc. reported adjusted earnings of $5.12 billion or $2.51
per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $2.29 per share, according
to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude
special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 9.9% to $8.78 billion from $7.99
billion last year.
