WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Grainger (W.W.) Inc. (GWW) announced earnings for its
third quarter that increased from the same period last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings totaled $476 million, or $9.43 per share. This compares
with $426 million, or $8.27 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $8.93 per share, according
to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude
special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 6.7% to $4.208 billion from $3.942
billion last year.
