WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Stryker Corp. (SYK) released earnings for its fourth
quarter that increased from last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings came in at $1.14 billion, or $2.98 per share. This
compares with $0.56 billion, or $1.47 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Excluding items, Stryker Corp. reported adjusted earnings of $1.33 billion or
$3.46 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $3.27 per share, according
to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude
special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 11.9% to $5.82 billion from $5.20
billion last year.
