27.07.2023 05:17:14 - dpa-AFX: Macquarie Says Q1 Profit Contribution Substantially Down On Weaker Trading
CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - Australian financial services firm Macquarie Group Ltd.
(MQG.AX, MQBKY.PK) said its operating groups deliver first quarter of fiscal
year 2024 net profit contribution that was substantially down on the first
quarter of the 2023 financial year, citing weaker trading conditions.
The company said it continues to maintain a cautious stance, with a conservative
approach to capital, funding and liquidity that positions the company well to
respond to the current environment.
The company noted that it remains well-positioned to deliver superior
performance in the medium term due to its diverse business mix across
annuity-style and markets-facing businesses.
Effective 27 September 2023, David Whiteing will be appointed as a non-executive
director of Macquarie Bank Limited. Alongside Ian Saines and Michael Coleman,
Whiteing will be one of three bank-only non-executive directors.
