MOUNTAIN VIEW (dpa-AFX) - Verisign Inc. (VRSN) released a profit for its
third quarter that increased from last year and beat the Street estimates.

The company's bottom line came in at $188.5 million, or $1.83 per share. This
compares with $169.5 million, or $1.58 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $1.81 per share, according
to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude
special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 5.4% to $376.3 million from $356.9
million last year.
