WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Edwards Lifesciences Corp. (EW) announced a profit
for fourth quarter that decreased from the same period last year in line with
the Street estimates.

The company's bottom line totaled $369.9 million, or $0.61 per share. This
compares with $398.4 million, or $0.65 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Excluding items, Edwards Lifesciences Corp. reported adjusted earnings of $390.1
million or $0.64 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $0.64 per share, according
to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude
special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter rose 13.3% to $1.53 billion from $1.35
billion last year.
