WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) revealed earnings for third
quarter that beat the Street estimates.

The company's earnings came in at $2.62 billion, or $7.49 per share. This
compares with $2.82 billion, or $7.19 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Excluding items, Valero Energy Corp. reported adjusted earnings of $2.62 billion
or $7.49 per share for the period.

Analysts on average had expected the company to earn $7.47 per share, according
to figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude
special items.

The company's revenue for the quarter fell 13.6% to $38.40 billion from $44.45
billion last year.
